UNCLE BRYCE'S NOTES
Mark Twain NF covers 1.5 million acres across southern Missouri in the Missouri Ozarks. This is the second Ozark stop on the loop but a different area and geology than Arkansas volcanic shut-ins and granite elephant rocks. Taum Sauk Mountain the highest point in Missouri is nearby and easily summited. The Arcadia Valley area is a hidden gem of Missouri most people do not know about. This is progressively heading northwest across the country toward the plains.
