UNCLE BRYCE'S NOTES

The Guadalupe Mountains are an ancient fossilized coral reef from the Permian era raised 8000 ft above the desert. McKittrick Canyon in early November has the best fall color in Texas or New Mexico with maples and oaks against limestone cliffs. Guadalupe Peak is the highest point in Texas and worth the climb. And Carlsbad Caverns 45 minutes away is one of the most spectacular cave systems on Earth. This is the gateway stop on the way into Texas.
